A List of Some Native Bees
Bumblebee
Makes a minimal amount of honey
Burrows in the ground
Like honeybees, they are social and have colonies (with queen, workers, and drones)
Mason Bee
Are unable to make their own tunnels and instead looks for vacated ones left by beetles and other bees.
Stingless
Sweat Bee
Attracted to the scent of sweat
Likes to lap up the salt in water
Carpenter Bee
Are not as fuzzy and don't pollinate as efficiently compared to other bees.
Can be considered a pest as they can easily build nests in houses
Despite their large size they are fairly docile unless directly provoked.
Squash Bee
Are able to pollinate squashes more efficiently compared to honeybees on a bee per visit basis.
Leafcutter Bee
Uses leaves to create cells in their nests.
